Cookie Policy
Information about analytics cookies and related technologies used by Andy's AI Playbook.
Overview
This Cookie Policy describes cookies and similar technologies used in connection with Andy’s AI Playbook.
It should be read together with the Privacy Policy.
Technologies currently identified
The current site setup includes:
| Technology | Provider | Current use |
|---|---|---|
Google Analytics (gtag.js) |
Loads on production pages to measure page views and selected site interactions. | |
| Static-site hosting | GitHub Pages | Delivers the site and logs visitor IP addresses for security. |
| Web-font requests | Google Fonts | Delivers font CSS and font files requested by the browser. |
| Newsletter form submission | Buttondown | Receives the email address, form tag, and UTM values when a visitor submits a newsletter form. |
| Newsletter prompt preferences | Browser local storage and session storage | Stores whether the prompt was shown in the current browser session, when it was dismissed, and whether a newsletter form was submitted. It does not store the email address. |
What these technologies are used for
These technologies are used to:
- measure page views and selected site interactions;
- host and deliver the site and support hosting security;
- deliver the site’s fonts;
- process newsletter subscriptions after a visitor submits the newsletter form;
- prevent the newsletter prompt from being shown repeatedly after it is displayed, dismissed, or followed by a form submission.
Third-party services
The current site setup includes third-party services from:
- Google Analytics;
- Google Fonts;
- GitHub Pages;
- Buttondown, when a newsletter form is submitted.
Cookie or storage duration
The current gtag.js configuration does not override Google’s default cookie settings. Google documents the following defaults:
| Cookie | Purpose | Default expiration |
|---|---|---|
_ga |
Distinguishes users. | 2 years |
_ga_<container-id> |
Persists session state. | 2 years |
See Tagging for Google Analytics.
The newsletter prompt uses browser storage as follows:
| Storage key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
andyagentlab.newsletterPrompt.shown.v1 |
Prevents more than one prompt display in the same browser session. | Current browser session. |
andyagentlab.newsletterPrompt.dismissedAt.v1 |
Records the dismissal time so the prompt is not shown again during the configured cooldown. | 30 days for prompt-display decisions; the stored timestamp may remain until browser storage is cleared or overwritten. |
andyagentlab.newsletterForm.submitted.v1 |
Prevents the prompt from returning after a newsletter form is submitted in that browser. | Until browser storage is cleared. |
User controls
The site does not currently provide a site-level cookie preference or consent control. On production pages, Google Analytics loads without waiting for a site-level consent choice.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google states that gtag.js does not require cookies to transmit data to Google Analytics, so blocking cookies alone is not the same as disabling Google Analytics measurement.
Changes
This Cookie Policy may be updated when the site’s analytics, hosting, font delivery, newsletter, or related technologies change.
